Today we played a really interesting new game called ‘Grammar Toss’!

Here are the instructions:

Grammar toss – Sentence making.

What you need – A partner, paper, pencil and a die.

Players must throw a 1 before they can begin. The winner is the first person to make a sentence that includes all of the following:

  1. A group of words that tell what or who.
  2. A group of words that tell when.
  3. A verb in the past tense
  4. An adverb telling how.
  5. A group of words telling where.
  6. Adjectives.

Roll the die. Whatever number it lands on represents what words you can add to your sentence.

We came up with some very descriptive sentences! What sentences can you come up with?

  1. Dear Miss Lavars,
I loved that game! It was great fun. I liked my sentence how you ate the whiteboard marker!
    From Noah.

  2. I liked the game too Noah! I think I would have a terrible stomach ache if I ate a white board marker!
    Miss Lavars.

  3. Hi Daniel,
Noah pretended that I ate a whiteboard marker in his sentence. If I really did I would have an awful stomach ache!
    Miss Lavars.
