In Maths, we are learning about measurement, and in particular, how to measure the area of something.

We used a centimeter grid to trace around the shape of our foot. We then counted how many squares were inside our foot. If there was more than half a square, we included that too. Then we wrote our results on the whiteboard:

John had the biggest foot with an area of 184 square centimeters, and Willow had the smallest foot with an area of 104 square centimeters! That’s a difference of 80 square centimeters, wow!

What would you estimate the area of your foot is?

Does it beat our record of the smallest or biggest foot?
